Rules for participation in Southern Utah Brevet events
  • Riders must wear ANSI or Snell approved helmets at all times while cycling at the event.
  • Riders must obey all state and local traffic laws while riding at the event.
  • Personal support vehicles are not permitted to follow riders during the event. Riders receiving outside support at locations other than control points will be disqualified.
  • Riders must have and use a legal lighting system on their bike at all times from one half hour after sunset until one half hour before sunrise, or when poor visibility conditions exist. In addition, a reflective sash and reflective ankle bands are required while riding at night. Riders must present this gear for inspection when checking in for the event.
  • Deviating from the designated route is not permitted. Riders who find themselves off course are required to re-enter the course at the point where they left it and continue. Exceptions are made for accidents and temporary road closures.
  • Riders who abandon the event are required to notify an event official as soon as possible.
  • Time limits will be strictly enforced. Riders who are not able to make the checkpoint closing times will be disqualified.
  • RUSA rules and procedures will be strictly adhered to for all SUB events. Riders are responsible for knowing these rules. A copy of RUSA Rules for Riders will be available at each event. Please check the RUSA website for more information.
  • These events are held rain or shine! An event will be cancelled only in case of extremely unsafe conditions or other catastrophic circumstances.
  • Membership in the Color Country Cycling Club is required for insurance purposes. This application is included on the registration form.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable, please don't ask.
