The Hurricane 400k Also a new route for 2008, this is one BIG ride! It follows a giant loop beginning in Hurricane Utah and heads east onto the Arizona Strip. You will be riding into the rising sun past Gooseberry Mesa, Colorado City, Pipe Springs on your way to Fredonia. There you turn north following Hwy 89 to Kanab and back into Utah. The Kanab area has seen well over 100 movies filmed here over the years! Past Kanab the climbing starts as you climb to the headwaters of the Virgin River at Todd's Junction. Once over this crest you enter the Great Basin and into the Utah high country where you will follow the Sevier River on to Panguitch. This will be your last chance to stock up with supplies for some time. North of Panguitch you climb over Hwy 20 then turn south towards Parowan and Cedar City. From here most of the work is done as you cruise back to Hurricane.

The details Riders should meet at Over the Edge Cycles at 100 South 100 West St. in Hurricane Utah. Map of start location. Parking is limited so please try and leave your car parked at your hotel. This checkpoint will be open at 4:15 am, and the ride will start promptly at 5:00 am. There will be a riders meeting at 4:45 am. This will be the time for any questions.
